Morning Wish
Was it but a whisper that found my heart?
This cold winter's eve,
Whose cloudless night wrapped about all?
Was it merely a lost sigh that caressed my soul,
Softly bringing this sense of peace.
A lifetime would pass all too quickly,
If your presence marked the time.
Heartbeats cadence measured
Against the rhythm of your breath.
Sweet beyond dreaming,
The rapture of your embrace.
Walk with me now upon this night,
For come the morning,
Whose presence shall fall here all too soon,
That it shall be your kiss that breaks the day.
