I went in search of
Christmas,
Left tinsel scenes behind,
In need of the true meaning
That marks our
Christmastime.
I saw it in a gentle soul
Who with little means to
share,
Dropped coins into a kettle
For the needy everywhere.
It shone on children's
faces,
Their cheeks and hearts
aglow,
As they sang of Baby Jesus
Asleep in manger low.
I heard the carollers
singing
Like angels from above,
Telling of the Christ
Child's birth,
God's precious gift of
love.
I went in search of
Christmas
Not found in tinsel lore,
But in a humble stable
With straw strewn on the
floor
Kay Hoffman

Lifting my voice in
thanks,
recounting all Your
wondrous deeds.
Psalm 26:7
